2020 has seen some amazing growth and change for the girls at J K so we thought it would be a great time to sit down, and have a 5 min chat with each of the girls and let you get to know everyone a little bit better.
First up, we’re starting with Nic, a real OG J K Girl.
Aside from Jo, you have been at J K for the longest. Tell us about your journey as a J K girl?
So I started working in J K waaay back in May 2011 when my long-term best friend Hayley worked for J K. I started off as an Office Junior and completed my apprenticeship in Business & Administration, I was then promoted to Finance Administrator. I then started doing client visits which I probably enjoy the most! Being in a different place every day where no two days are the same is what I really love. In 2015 I took on the role of Office Manager where I oversaw the day-to-day running of the office. Then in 2018, Jo gave me the best 25th birthday present by appointing me as a Director and the rest is history! I’ve genuinely worked with some of the most amazing ladies and clients over the years and couldn’t even imagine working anywhere else ?
What does a typical working day look like for you?
No day is the same, you’ll more than likely find me in a client’s office ranging from a building & joinery firm to a florist! I’m either working away on the books, processing payrolls, or being an agony aunt! I love helping others solve any problems they have.
What are the values that drive you?
Honesty, loyalty, and positivity are absolutely key for me! I truly value building up trust and a good working relationship with clients and the people working around me.
Forgetting about lockdown for a moment, how do you like to spend your free time?
I’m usually spending time with my family, friends, my partner Callum and now I have a 4 month old golden Lab puppy named Millie which keeps me busy! I love a night out or a gig ? but as much as I do enjoy a good drinking sesh, I’m a bit of a geek at heart and love watching a good superhero or horror movie (so much so, I have a tattoo of Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy and want to add more!) or getting a good horror game on my Playstation.
What’s your biggest pet peeve?
Noisy eaters and being interrupted are my biggest pet peeves! I cannot stand either of them and I will say something if either of them happens. The only other one I have is someone helping themselves to food on my plate without asking, it will turn in to a total Joey from Friends moment!
Dead or alive, who would be your top 3 dinner party guests, and why?
Robin Williams – would be my number 1. I always loved him growing up, watching his movies, and be proper belly laughing! Adele – she’s absolutely hilarious and her voice is just stunning. Quentin Tarantino – controversial choice but his movies are my absolute favourites, I could watch Pulp Fiction and Inglorious Basterds a million times over and not get bored. I’d also ask him what his deal is with feet!?
So there you go, a little bit about our Nic. She is a real superstar and J K wouldn’t function the way it does without her! Stay tuned for our next getting to know the team.
